Gatik takes production class box trucks and fits them with a retrofit autonomy kit of lidar, radar, cameras and compute. The trucks run short repeatable middle mile routes between distribution centres, dark stores and retail outlets, which lets the company validate a fixed operating domain closely. Some routes run fully driverless with no person in the cab, while others keep a safety driver. Customers include grocery and consumer goods shippers in the United States and Canada.
