Lunar Outpost built MAPP as a small four wheeled platform to carry customer payloads across the lunar surface, including a Nokia Bell Labs cellular network node, MIT's AstroAnt robot and cameras for a regolith sampling demonstration. It rode Intuitive Machines' Athena lander to a landing near the lunar south pole on 6 March 2025. The lander came to rest on its side with too little power, so MAPP was never released.
