HOSPI is a chest high cabinet robot that holds up to six lockable trays and carries 20 kg between wards, pharmacies and laboratories. It follows stored map data of the building with sensor based obstacle avoidance, reports its position over wireless and opens only to staff identity cards. Panasonic ran hospital trials in Japan before commercial sales, and variants have been tested as guides in an airport and as drink servers in a hotel. Four units entered service at Changi General Hospital in Singapore in 2015.
