Phoenix stands about 1.7 metres and weighs roughly 70 kilograms, and Sanctuary rates it to lift 25 kilograms. Unusually for the current wave it is driven by miniaturised hydraulics, which Sanctuary uses to get high force density in the hands and wrists; successive generations cut weight and power draw while adding wrist and elbow range. Behaviour is produced by Sanctuary's Carbon control system, which mixes learned policies with teleoperated demonstration capture. Sanctuary ran a commercial pilot at a Canadian Tire store in Ontario in 2023 and announced an automotive manufacturing partnership with Magna in March 2024.
