Genibo walked on four servo driven legs and carried a camera, touch sensors and microphones in a glossy plastic body shaped after a bull terrier. Onboard software gave it a personality that changed with handling, and it recognised a set of spoken commands and could be taught simple tricks. Dasarobot showed a prototype in 2006 and sold the robot from 2008 at around fifteen hundred US dollars, with later versions adding English language software.
