CyberDog uses twelve in-house servo motors rated at about thirty two newton metres, an Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX computer and eleven sensors including a depth camera and ultra wide angle fisheye lenses. Xiaomi published a developer interface and shipped the robot to engineers and enthusiasts rather than general consumers, positioning it as an open platform. It trotted at over three metres per second, followed a person and performed backflips, and was replaced by the smaller CyberDog 2 in 2023.
