Mirokai is a humanoid upper body with two arms and an animated face that rides on a ball-balancing drive rather than legs or a wheeled chassis, letting it pivot in place in narrow corridors. Enchanted Tools designed it deliberately as a fictional character, with a puppet-inspired head and voice, on the argument that people accept a stylised robot more readily than an imitation human. It carries trays and containers, driven by a mix of autonomous navigation and remote operator support. The company has run trials in Paris hospitals and shown the robot at CES, but it is not yet a volume product.
