ANYmal C wrapped the torque controlled ANYdrive legs in a sealed industrial shell with a docking station, an inspection payload and mission planning software. It walks routes on its own, reads gauges, listens for anomalies with an ultrasonic microphone and records thermal images, then returns to charge. Utilities and process plants used it for unmanned inspection rounds, and four ANYmal C robots formed the legged element of team CERBERUS, winner of the DARPA Subterranean Challenge final in 2021.
