The Scooptram ST18 is a large articulated four wheel drive loader for underground metal mining, carrying 18 tonnes a bucket. With Scooptram Automation fitted it trams autonomously between a loading point and a tipping point, using onboard scanners to follow the drift, while an operator on surface handles the bucket fill by remote video. Taking operators out of the production area removes exposure to fumes, dust and ground fall. Mines run it on production and development headings.
