RB-Y1 is 1.4 metres tall in its neutral pose, weighs 131 kilograms and combines two seven-axis arms with a six-axis torso on a two-wheel balancing base. The torso lets it change working height by more than 50 centimetres and lean into turns, so it can pick from the floor and from a high shelf without a lift column. Each arm carries three kilograms and the base moves at up to 2.5 metres per second. Rainbow Robotics, in which Samsung Electronics took a controlling stake, sells it with a development kit to companies building manipulation and embodied learning applications.
