CADRE is a technology demonstration of multi robot autonomy in which three identical four wheeled rovers elect a leader, divide up a survey area and drive without step by step commands from Earth. Each carries stereo cameras and an antenna for a multistatic ground penetrating radar that only works when several rovers cooperate, building a three dimensional picture of the subsurface. The flight rovers are complete and are to reach the Reiner Gamma region aboard the Intuitive Machines IM-3 lander, working for about one lunar day.
