NEXTAGE is a 15-axis humanoid made up of a two-camera head, a rotating waist and two six-axis arms, mounted on a bench stand or a movable cart rather than legs. It is designed to drop into workstations built for people, so a line can be converted without re-tooling, and its head and hand cameras let it find parts whose position varies. Kawada supplies it with grippers and vision tools for electronics assembly, inspection and machine tending. It has been sold in Japan and exported since 2011 and descends from Kawada's earlier humanoid platform engineering.
