Pupper is much smaller and cheaper than Doggo, using twelve hobby scale actuators, a Raspberry Pi and a small motor controller board. Its published bill of materials, printed parts and Python control stack let students build a trotting robot in a weekend and then modify the controller. It is used in university courses and workshops, and later revisions moved to brushless motors for more dynamic behaviour.
