TALOS is 175 centimetres tall, weighs 95 kilograms and has 32 degrees of freedom driven by high-torque brushless DC motors, with torque sensing in every joint. That joint-level torque feedback is the point of the machine: it allows compliant whole-body control, so the robot can absorb pushes, take steps it was not commanded and lift six kilograms per arm. It ships with ROS support and an RGB-D head camera, and accepts additional sensors and hands through expansion modules. PAL sells it commercially to corporate and university laboratories.
