The UVD Robot is a wheeled base carrying a vertical array of ultraviolet C lamps that damage the genetic material of pathogens on exposed surfaces. Lidar, three 3D cameras and passive infrared sensors let it drive a recorded route through wards and operating theatres, and shut the lamps off if a person is detected. It was developed with Odense University Hospital in Denmark and shipped in large numbers during the 2020 pandemic response, mostly to hospitals, airports and offices.
